student internships

Studying Human Resource Management Program in my last year at the Boston Business College, it was quite a valuable experience for me to have an internship as a recruiter assistant at the local employment agency “The HT Group”. This small organization provides services of the personnel recruitment for a big variety of organizations in the city. My professional responsibilities included creating job descriptions, processing the resumes and applications of candidates, posting and updating advertisements concerning available vacancies of our customers in social media, negotiating with employers, and interviewing candidates. The major objective of my internship at “The HT Group” was to master the procedures concerning the recruitment of the appropriate specialists that would correspond the requirements of our clients. As a matter of fact, I have obtained quite a fruitful experience, having an internship at the employment agency. I have discovered significant concepts regarding the recruitment of a big variety of specialties. In addition, I have also mastered the strategies regarding the creation of interesting, and unique texts about job descriptions. Furthermore, it was also quite a significant achievement for me to master the techniques of effective interviewing candidates as it was a fundamental responsibility of every expert in the human resource field.

Nevertheless, I had also to face some difficulties during my internship. In particular, once, the agency received the request from its regular customer to find highly qualified interpreters of the Japanese language. My mentor also assigned me to participate in this recruiting process. It was the first time for me to carry out headhunting of such specialties as well as for the proficient employees of the agency. I started searching the appropriate candidates through posting advertisements in social media and considering the resumes of applicants as usual. However, this strategy turned out ineffective that time. The majority of applicants who applied to the agency regarding that vacancy did not address the requirements of the employer. Under this circumstance, I made a decision to apply to the Japanese Community in Boston. Consequently, I managed to find the appropriate candidates who fluently spoke Japanese. As a result of this experience, I have discovered that a professional recruiter should also be innovative as he or she may frequently encounter unpredictable issues that may require innovative resolutions.

In conclusion, I would like to note that during my internship, my mentor allowed me to be involved in the resolution of significant requests the employment agency received. It assisted me to intensively develop important skills of the professional recruiter such as adaptability, resourcefulness, responsibility, and communication skills. Therefore, it becomes safe to conclude that this internship may sufficiently assist me in becoming an appropriate expert in the human resource field in the future.
